NEW DELHI: Infosys on Wednesday said IT services voluntary attrition rate for the last 12 months (LTM) at the end of March quarter increased to a high of 27.7 per cent. This means, in the last 12 months, over a quarter of its employers have left the firm for greener pastures.

In comparison, the attrition rate was 25.5 per cent and 10.9 per cent for the quarters ending December 2021 and March 2021, respectively.

Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys biggest rival, reported attrition rate at a tad above 17 per cent for the March quarter, which was also its high.

Despite the high attrition rate, the company has extensively focussed on hiring in the last one year. Its employee count has increased to 3,14,015 from 2,59,619 in the same quarter last year. This means a jump of 21 per cent. In this, a vast majority are software professionals, with only around 16,000 in sales and support.

The percentage of women employees in its workforce remained the same quarter on quarter at 39.6 per cent. Year on year, it increased by 1 percentage point.
